POSTPARTUM INFORMATION - FATIGUE
Carrying a baby for 9 months, going through childbirth whether it be a vaginal birth or caesarean section, learning how to look after your baby, and waking up during the night, night after night, to feed and settle your newborn will naturally leave you feeling somewhat fatigued.
Be patient, your body will adjust to the demands of motherhood, and once your baby starts sleeping through the night you will be rest assured to catch up on some shut eye.
In the meantime you can help reduce this fatigue postpartum by trying to find time for yourself to relax, rest while the baby is sleeping, don’t worry if you can’t keep the house as spotless as it was before the newborn arrived, and accept any offers of help from your partner and/or others.
If however, you feel that your fatigue is lasting too long and does not seem to be improving, seek advice from your healthcare professional.
